Curieux nom de famille que les plus anciennes mentions situent dans la Côte-d'Or (Chazeuil, 1680), et qui a été écrit autrefois "Père et Mère". Difficile de se prononcer, même si on aurait tendance à y voir le surnom d'un enfant trouvé (de père et mère inconnus).
